Care Leavers 10 Years On
A study exploring the experiences of care experienced adults in Ireland ten years after leaving care
The Study
-
We hope to interview up to 70 young adults (aged 26-31) who spent time in TUSLA/HSE care in their teens and possibly earlier
-
We want to hear the stories of people from all over the country and with all kinds of care experience
-
We are an independent team of experienced researchers from Trinity College Dublin and the University of Sussex
-
We have been appointed by the government to do this study and to learn from care experienced adults about what has happened since they left care in their late teens and the things that have helped or hindered them in their life.
-
It is hoped that the study findings can influence government policy.
